The Racine Literacy Council is a volunteer-based organization whose mission is to provide adult literacy programs in Racine County and to bring awareness to the community about the importance and impact of literacy.
The primary focus of the Racine Literacy Council is its one-to-one tutoring program by trained volunteer tutors.

The Racine Literacy Council is urgently in need of volunteers to tutor adults who want to learn English or improve basic literacy skills. We are offering an additional information meeting on Tuesday, January 26 at 6.30pm at the Racine Literacy Council at which people can learn about the tutoring experience.
Snow days: Student and tutors please contact us or listen to WRJN 1400AM Radio to find out if we are closed due to snow. The RLC does not necessarily close when the Racine Unified Schools close.
A new U.S. Citizenship Class will be beginning on January 26, 2010. Classes are held every Tuesday, 6-8pm, for 8 weeks. You must be 18 or over and a legal US Permanent Resident to take part. The class will be taught in English. Cost is $35, space is limited and pre-registration is required.
Please note that the Racine Literacy Council is now closed on Fridays. We are open 8.30am-8.00pm, Monday-Thursday.
The 2010 Celtic Night Concert will be held on Friday March 12th. Please mark the date in your calendar and check back soon for more information.
