The Racine Literacy Council is a volunteer-based organization whose mission is to provide adult literacy programs in Racine County and to bring awareness to the community about the importance and impact of literacy.
The primary focus of the Racine Literacy Council is its one-to-one tutoring program by trained volunteer tutors.

You are invited to join the Racine Literacy Council’s forth annual Summer Read read-a-thon. What a great way to support the RLC program while reading your favorite books over the summer. Prizes will be awarded in different categories for the most books read and most money raised. To participate as a reader, we ask that you collect pledges from friends, family and co-workers for each book you read over the summer. Download pledge packs here.
The Summer Read kick-off event will be held on Friday, June 4 from 6–9p.m. at The DeKoven Center's Assembly Hall (600 21st St, Racine). The evening will include live music, tasty refreshments, a silent auction and guest authors. Please let us know if you plan to attend.
Thank you to the 42 learners who submitted their stories for Life’s Voyages 8. Everyone is invited to celebrate the authors’ accomplishments by attending the publishing party on June 23 at the Educators Credit Union, Education Building on Newman Rd. and Spring Street. Invitations and maps will be available closer to the event.
